I see that the WordCamp site now has a listing for Winnipeg’s Camp. Any idea who I would talk to about a possible presentation? I am thinking something about multisite might be interesting, since it seems to be something not a lot of people have experience using.

Thanks to everyone for listening to me for an hour last night at the WordPress meetup, and to Ian for encouraging me to speak. It was lots of fun.
Thank you Rod, Brent, Kevin and Ian for offering topics. Hope I didn’t forget anyone.

Ian secured us a meeting room at the Red River College, which is where 2013 Winnipeg WordPress meetups will take place. Details about tomorrow’s meetup can be found here: http://www.meetup.com/wordpresswinnipeg/events/85430562/ .
Ian paid up front $441 incl. tax. We had promised at November’s meetup to re-imburse him, so he’s setup a a PayPal donation widget at http://xorth.com/fundraising.html , or you can access it on the top of this site’s sidebar. It’s the snow owl

Wrote this little gist: https://gist.github.com/4133966 that shows how to configure the WordPress installation when enabling a theme. Say you make a theme for a customer who is going to install their own site, and you want to make sure the timezone is set to Winnipeg, or that the comments are disabled by default.

I got back last night from Toronto’s WordCamp Developers. It was an amazing experience. I’m going through my notes today, and plan to post about it on my personal site later this week, once I’ve parsed and processed everything. I even have a topic in mind for WordCamp Winnipeg.

Awesome was, or perhaps still is looking for a Web designer, and they list WordPress as one of the skills.

I don’t really know what it’s like working there, but anyway, I thought I’d post about it.

Hey Patrick,
Yeah, for sure. I’ve pasted your post into the organizers’ blog, and I expect a response shortly.
You can also get in touch with peeps on the meetup.com group, and I put in a request for a contact form on the WordCamp site WIP, http://2013.winnipeg.wordcamp.org/
Thanks for the offer, and talk to you soon.

I got in touch with Ian via Twitter, so I’m now in the loop, as it were. Thanks!
